WHY ATTEND THIS CLINIC:

  • The Queens In Jeans Equine Queen Clinic is DIFFERENT -- not better but simply unique and different than other Rodeo Queen Clinics.  
  • First and foremost, the two key facilitators are PROFESSIONAL TRAINERS for a living. We have trained nationally and internationally on many of the topics that will be covered in our clinic. This means you will be guided through a professionally produced program with powerpoint slides, videos, exercises, etc.
  • Image Development Group has conducted years of research to support which category you have to win in order to win any pageant.  We will share that research documentation at our clinics AND train you how to win that category while still emphasizing the need to study and prepare in all other categories as well.
  • We will discuss the psychological aspect of competition --- how to be unshakeable in the most shakeable moments!
  • Unlike other clinics and seminars, we WANT you to bring your computer or iPad.  We will be using them to do interview and speech research, as well as to send thank you cards to people (FOR FREE TO YOU).
  • There will be homework -- before you come to the clinic. So the training will begin a month in advance...not just during the two-days.
  • Since we are NOT affiliated with a particular pageant, organization or system...we will be talking FRANKLY about pageants, competition and winning strategies. Things that you may not have heard before, or that people have not shared with you before!
  • Debra Fox was not only a two-term President of the American Modeling Association, she made her living as the owner of a modeling/talent school and agency.  She trained people how to be PROFESSIONAL models --- how to do runway shows, photographic modeling, and commercial auditions.  The Models and Talent in her School/Agency (The Professional Edge) won national awards at the American Model & Talent Convention -- and her Agency won "Agency of the Year".   You won't just learn the "basics" of modeling.  You'll learn how to model like a professional. 
  • In Debra's Modeling & Talent Agency, she owned a Hair Salon, and was a Skin Care Educator for 15+ years, she will be sharing detailed facts about skin care that you may not be aware of. You WILL do a skin care facial at the clinic.
  • We will go through cosmetic application techniques for photographic vs. stage makeup vs. day-to-day makeup.
  • Winning the Photogenics Award.  As a former modeling agent, Debra has extensive experience on how to style great photos, how to move in front of the camera.  We will practice how to move in front of the camera including body and head movement. 
  • We won't just teach you what you should wear -- we will teach you WHY!  You will learn about color psychology, wardrobing techniques, PROPER fit and attention to details.  In fact, you will be encouraged to bring the following three competition outfits with you (formal dress; Check-in/Orientation; Interview).  We will critique them and provide suggestions on each outfit.
  • You will learn, first-hand, how to make something "Fashion Forward."
  • The interview -- the KILLER! We are going to teach you how to master your interviews. This is going to be part of your homework. If you haven't done interview homework BEFORE a clinic in the past, this WILL be different. But you will walk away with a SYSTEM to learn how to conduct a great interview, not just a few critiques on what you can do to be better.
  • Speech Presentation.  Both of your facilitators are professional SPEAKERS -- again, we make a living speaking. So we won't just make a few suggestions on how to improve your speech.  We will teach you how to use body language, voice inflection, pitch, volume and speed to bring your speech to life.  Each participant will be required to bring a 2-minute speech that they can present during the clinic for critique and practice.
  • Social Media Marketing.  One of your facilitators is a professional trainer and coach in SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING. In this day and age of the internet, Facebook, Twitter, etc. -- it's time that you start learning the PROPER way to use Social Media to market yourself and your sponsors. I'm bringing in a SPECIALIST who does this for a living! When you learn how to market yourself, you increase awareness, which in turn can help you to secure sponsors!
  • PAGEANT DIRECTORS/COMMITTEE MEMBERS -- if we have enough Pagent committee members in attendance, we will do a special training session on how to use Social Media to promote your pageant, recruit contestants, promote sponsors and promote your titleholder.

WHO CAN ATTEND:

CONTESTANTS:

  • Any young woman between the ages of 13-25, who is seriously interested in learning how to win AND be a great titleholder.
    Our theory is if you know and understand how to BE a great queen, then you have a much better grasp on what it takes to compete!
  • Must be single, never married (in order to compete in pageants)
  • Must be prepared to learn, engage, and grow!
  • Must be able to receive suggestions, updates, critiques without taking it personally!
  • Participants under the age of 18 MUST have a parent or legal guardian in attendance.

CONTESTANT PARENTS:

  • Any parent is welcome to attend
  • Any contestant under the age of 18 is REQUIRED to have ONE parent in attendance (at no charge).
  • All other parents must pay $25 each for the training.

PAGEANT DIRECTORS/COMMITTEE MEMBERS :

  • Any person who serves on an equine queen pageant committee can attend.
  • If we have enough participation by Pageant Committee member, we will try to have a separate training for you on how to promote your pageant using Social Media.

Debra, who was Miss Rodeo Kansas in 1980, brings a wide variety of experience to the table for those in attendance. Her credentials include:

Debra Fox, the President of Image Development Group, has been coaching and mentoring rodeo queen contestants since 1981 when she gave up her title as Miss Rodeo Kansas, 1980.  She partnered with Teddi Bankes (Domann), Miss Rodeo Kansas 1984 and Speech winner at Miss Rodeo America to create The Competitive Edge -- an equine pageant coaching organization.

Over the next two years, Debra and Teddi would succeessfully coach FOUR clients to win NATIONAL titles in the equine industry, and COUNTLESS clients to win state and regional titles as well.

That isn't where Debra's experince stops.  She went to work as the Model Scout for a major midwest modeing agency, became a highly sought-after regional plus-size print and runway model, and eventually founded The Professional Edge Model & Talent Agency.  Within two years, she was voted by her peers to serve two consecutive terms as the President of the American Modeling Association.

After selling her model/talent agency, Debra began working as a skin care expert with Arbonne International and soon promoted to an Exec Regional Vice President level.  She trained nation-wide on skin care, cosmetics and business.

Today, Debra is a National and International Motivational Speaker and Corporate Trainer.  Her client list includes:

Lisa Ann Landry has over 25 years experience delivering soft skills and technical training. She became an award winning orator in high school and continues to delight audiences both nationally and internationally. With an extensive background in human resources training and development she designs and delivers programs to widely diverse audiences large and small. Her publications include an interactive training program called Internet and Computer Core Concepts produced by Learn Key Corporation and a train the trainer program called COGS – Closers, Openers, Games & Setup produced by Next Steps International.

Lisa Ann Landry holds an MS in Management from Indiana Wesleyan University and completed post graduate courses in Management and Decision Sciences at Walden University. Her corporate experiences in IBM made her wise to the value of being an early adopter to new technologies and techniques which lead her to wholeheartedly embrace social media marketing.

Today she is a Licensed Coach with The Social Networking Coaches Club (SNCC) and travels throughout the country teaching Social Media Marketing seminars or what she calls The SNCC Way.
